European Qualifiers - Group B

Greece narrowly failed to qualify for the World Championship after finishing fourth in Nantes in the 2009 European Championship. They have been given a reprieve and will take part in Blind 2010 due to the late withdrawal of Cameroon.

Greece played in the 2002 World Championship finishing in sixth place and also staged the first ever blind football event in the Paralympics in 2004 in their home country.

A great day for the beautiful game

There is much debate about who coined the phrase the ‘beautiful game’ but everyone who has ever used it – from Pele to Platini – meant pretty much the same thing. Football is a game played by 300 million people across the globe, and enjoyed by millions more. It’s beautiful because it unites people. The teams, communities, and countries too.
