The teams - France
European Champions - Group A
The French team first entered the international arena in 1998 and since then they have participated in all the European championships since 1999, the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro in 2002 and Buenos Aires in 2006, and the Paralympics in Athens in 2004.
Their roll of honour so far is definitely impressive: Current European Champions (won in 2009), runners-up in 2005, and third placed in 2003 and 2007, as well as finishing fifth in the World Championship in 2006.
The French team has undergone a revitalisation recently, and will be coming into this tournament with a much younger squad. Don't be deluded into thinking they'll be pushovers, though - they have a reputation to uphold and are all keen to establish themselves on the world stage.
