Young Leaders recruited
The Blind 2010 workforce has just got bigger with the recruitment of a group of students from Durham!
Jordan Stephenson, Jaz Bradley, Hannah Marshall, Sophie Watchman, Jade Armstrong, Mathew Carnelley, and Tori Sheriff were nominated by Durham FA through their Young Leadership programme.
In partnership with British Blind Sport, the ardent Newcastle fans applied to be volunteers at the event despite the significant distance from home. The Young Leaders are all experienced volunteers and have been involved in various initiatives as part of the programme.
The student’s respective colleges have helped with funding towards the cost of their stay in Hereford for the duration of the tournament.
On the back of this the deadline for volunteers to apply to help with the event has again been extended until Friday June 4th to allow as many people as possible to join the team in August.
