World Championship boost for Blind Squad
Yesterday, members of the England Blind team travelled to London Colney to meet up with the England men’s senior team as they prepared for their game against Egypt at Wembley on Wednesday. They met with coach Fabio Capello and the players and joined them in a kick about on the pitch.
England stars Steven Gerrard, John Terry, Jermain Defoe and Matthew Upson were quick to get involved and took part in some of the training drills under coaches Tony Larkin, Jon Pugh and John Ball and The FA’s National Manager for Disability football, Jeff Davis.
For the nine blind squad players in attendance, Dave Clarke, Robin Williams, Dan James, Richard Morgan, Simon Hill, Lewis Skyers, Dan English, Will Norman, Craig Lundberg and Jonathan Gribbin, it was a great experience as they got to meet and speak to all of Capello’s squad.
The England Manager also met all of the players, before discussing coaching matters with Larkin, Pugh and Ball.
