Wembley Prepares For Blind World Championship Draw
England World Cup winner, George Cohen, will be a guest of honour when The FA hosts the draw for the IBSA Blind World Football Championships at Wembley Stadium on Monday, April 12.
The event, which will also include the launch of The FA’s Disability Football Strategy, will be attended by Sir Trevor Brooking and members of the England Blind Squad.
Joining England in that hat for the draw are current champions, Argentina, plus France, Spain, Brazil, Columbia, China, Japan, South Korea and Cameroon.
Following the draw, England’s Blind Squad will follow in the footsteps of Gerrard, Rooney and Defoe by taking part in a special skills and drills session on the pitch at Wembley Stadium.
FA National Manager for Disability Football, Jeff Davis, commented: “We’re delighted that George Cohen is attending as special guest on April 12 as it means that our England players can meet and draw inspiration from a real World Cup winner ahead of the Championships in Hereford this August.”
Davis is also looking forward to the launch of The FA’s Disability Strategy
