Paralympic Champions beat World Champions to qualify
Paralympic champions Brazil defeated the current IBSA World Champions Argentina to win the 2009 IBSA American Futsal Championships in Buenos Aires and qualify for next year's World Blind Football Championship.
Two goals from star player Ricardinho in the 4th and 11th minute gave Brazil an early lead and despite enjoying several chances Argentina were unable to fight back.
Paraguay took third position thanks to a 2-0 victory over Colombia and join Brazil and Argentina as the South American qualifiers for next years' event.
Tournament Director, Jon Dutton said: "At one point in the group stage, it looked like Brazil were not going to qualify. They scrapped through in fourth place, winning their last group game and then seemed to step up and ultimately beat the reigning World Champions in the final.
"Blind football is extremely strong in South America and we expect all three qualifiers to perform well in Hereford. I am sure the England team will be waiting anxiously to see who where they get drawn when the competition draw is held next April."
