Paraguay

The organisers of the IBSA World Blind Championship have today been informed that the international governing body, IBSA have deemed the membership status of Paraguay as ‘inactive’.

According to IBSA, Paraguay have failed to establish a National Paralympic Committee and at a recent meeting in Vancouver the IBSA General Management decided that Paraguay could not participate in the World Championships in Hereford.

Paraguay will be replaced by the fourth placed team from the South American championship – Columbia.

A great day for the beautiful game

There is much debate about who coined the phrase the ‘beautiful game’ but everyone who has ever used it – from Pele to Platini – meant pretty much the same thing. Football is a game played by 300 million people across the globe, and enjoyed by millions more. It’s beautiful because it unites people. The teams, communities, and countries too.
